Bonnie
B. Reece is Professor of Advertising in the College of Communication
Arts and Sciences, Michigan State University, where she has
taught since 1982. She served as Chairperson of the Department
of Advertising from 1997 to 2000 and is currently its Director
of Graduate Studies. She holds a bachelor's degree from Susquehanna
University, an MBA from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. from
The University of Michigan.
Dr.
Reece's primary teaching responsibilities at Michigan State
have been in the Master of Arts program, where she has taught
Advertising and Promotion Management as well as Advertising
in Society. She has also taught Quantitative Research Design
in the Mass Media Ph.D. program.
Dr.
Reece has presented papers at conferences of the American Academy
of Advertising, the American Marketing Association, Marketing
and Public Policy, and the Association for Consumer Research.
She has published articles in the Journal of Public Policy
and Marketing, Journal of Current Issues and Research
in Advertising, Journal of Retailing, and Harvard
Business Review. Her research interests include nutrition
claims in food advertising, direct-to-consumer advertising of
prescription drugs, and children as consumers.
